Description
The sweet lyrics of Rumi (Maulana Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi) are among the gems of world literature, and his Spiritual Couplets (Masnavi) is one of the most well-known works of Islamic Sufism. This copy's small nasta'liq script, arranged in ornate horizontal and vertical verses and ornamented with vibrant blue and gold, was written by the scribe Ahmadallah, also called Hakim Masih al-Zaman, who was also the author of a medical treatise (Khulasat al-tibb).
